The militants of the armed formations of Ukraine again demonstrated their T-84 tank, which is hidden somewhere in the rear. This time, the crew decided to surprise the media representatives working in the neo-Nazi location with the "red eyes" of the Warta optoelectronic suppression complex.According to the project "RG: Russian weapons", this "Ukrainian development" is simply a stolen version of the Russian "Curtain", samples of which were tested on T-80UD tanks of the Kharkov Plant of transport engineering named after Soviet People's Commissar Vyacheslav Malyshev.
According to the creators, the COEP were supposed to warn the crews about irradiation with laser rangefinders and prevent the guidance of such second-generation anti-tank missiles as HOT, Milan, BGM-71 TOW, M47 Dragon, and others.
In the 90s, "Varta" was copied in Ukraine and began to be offered at exhibitions where the T-84, "Yatagan", "Oplot-M", as well as modernized T-72 modifications of MP and AG were demonstrated. It was also tested on Pakistani Al-Khalid.
This complex was installed on ten T-84 tanks supplied to the AFU. As you know, four of these tanks were later purchased by the US military for study, but before being sent overseas, the COEP was dismantled from them. There is a version that it had to be done because initially this equipment was inoperable.
Later, the "Wart" still managed to be brought to mind, and it was mounted on the "Oplot T", sold in Thailand. A total of 49 sets went there.
After 2014, it turned out that the production of COEP in Ukraine without Russian components is impossible, and now it can be seen only on a few "eighty-fourths" capable of moving independently, who, due to numerous problems, are afraid to send to the line of contact.
