/tass/. Russia will present about 200 samples of weapons and military equipment at the 14th International Aerospace Exhibition Aero India 2023, which opens in Bangalore on Monday. The participants and guests of the air show will present both the bestsellers of the Russian military-industrial complex (MIC) - well-proven air defense systems, airplanes and helicopters, as well as promising novelties - the fifth-generation Su-57E fighter, the Checkmat single-engine fighter, reconnaissance and attack drones.
According to the organizers of the exhibition, 807 companies, 109 of them foreign, will take part in the event this year. A special place in the exhibition will be occupied by the pavilion of India. It will demonstrate the successes of the republic in the aviation sector.
According to the Indian Defense Research and Development Organization, one of the main exhibits will be the Indian light multi-purpose fighter Tejas. It is reported that its new modification Tejas Mk2 will be demonstrated at the exhibition. It is expected that the newest twin-engine carrier-based fighter, which is being developed by India for its aircraft carriers, may be shown.

A source close to Rostec previously told TASS that the Russian delegation plans to discuss during the air show the possibility of cooperation with India in the creation of fifth-generation aircraft, in particular, the Checkmate light tactical fighter.
In addition to aviation novelties, Russia will also bring already proven aircraft and helicopters: the Il-76MD-90A(E) military transport aircraft, the Il-78MK-90A tanker aircraft, as well as the Su-35 and Su-30SME supermaneuverable fighters, the MiG-35D multifunctional front-line fighter, the Ka-35 light multipurpose helicopter.226T, as well as upgraded versions of the Ka-52E, Mi-28NE and Mi-171SH military transport helicopters.
Visitors to the Rosoboronexport stand will also be able to get acquainted with Russian unmanned aerial vehicles: Orion-E reconnaissance and strike, Orlan-10E reconnaissance, Orlan-30 - a novelty of 2022.
In the air defense segment, Russia will present at the exhibition the entire range of means of a layered air defense system. Visitors will be able to get acquainted with the S-400 Triumph long-range anti-aircraft missile system and the S-350E Vityaz medium-range missile system. In addition, the Almaz-Antey Concern of East Kazakhstan Region will present short-range anti-aircraft missile systems of the Tor family (Tor-M2K, Tor-M2E, Tor-E2, the autonomous combat module of the Tor-M2KM air defense system on the Indian TATA chassis) and the riflemen combat vehicle-anti-aircraft gunners "Typhoon-air defense (E)".
For the first time in India, Almaz-Antey presents the 98P6E Abakan non-strategic missile defense system, designed to defeat modern and promising tactical and operational-tactical ballistic missiles. The 14th Aero India International Aerospace Exhibition will be held from February 13 to 17 at the Elahanka Air Base in Bangalore in southern India. The air show is held every two years. Russia is an active participant in the exhibition, in 2021 it presented over 200 samples of Russian military products.
