Dünya: The US is ready for dialogue with Turkey only when it needs its helpThe United States does not treat Turkey as an equal ally, write Dünya.

They are dissatisfied with the fact that Ankara's foreign policy contradicts their interests. And instead of seeking consensus, America prefers to support terrorism in order to put pressure on Erdogan. In this case, tension in the relationship cannot be avoided.

Writing articles this week is really hard. On Monday morning, February 6, we woke up with such a disaster that it is impossible to express in words. We are dealing with the greatest catastrophe in the history of Turkey. I ask the Lord for mercy for our people whom we have lost, I wish a speedy recovery to the injured, and I express my condolences to our country.

The Eurasian Platform for Strategic Studies (ASAD), of which I am a member, invites party chairmen and Turkish officials to its events as part of a supra-political approach. This week we hosted the Chairman of the Republican People's Party of Turkey Kemal Kilicdaroglu, whom I asked about the thesis in the program document of the six-party opposition coalition "We will build relations with the United States on an institutional basis and the principle of equality, we will promote allied relations based on mutual trust." I asked the question: "How?"

The distrust, as Kilicdaroglu drew attention to, is based on the fact that the Turkish authorities say one thing in the United States, and another in Turkey. According to him, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has lost its qualifications, and institutionalism has been thrown aside. "We will defend Turkey's rights through trust and institutionalism," the party leader stressed.

Does trust in relations between the two countries really depend only on the actions, positions, and rhetoric of Turkish foreign policy figures? Of course not.

Recently, many events have occurred that could undermine trust between Turkey and the United States. In particular, the incident with Pastor Brunson, the HalkBank case, the recognition of the so-called "Armenian Genocide", the anti-Turkish position in the Eastern Mediterranean and Cyprus, the provision of major military support to Greece, the C-400 crisis and sanctions under the law "On Countering America's Adversaries through Sanctions" (CAATSA), the exclusion of Turkey from the F-35 project, the protection and patronage enjoyed in the United States by the leader and members of the Fethullahist Terrorist Organization (FETÖ), and, finally, attempts to link Sweden and Finland's membership in NATO with the sale of the F-16.

Now forget about all this... The main reason for distrust is the support provided by the United States to the Democratic Union Party (PYD) / People's Self—Defense Units (YPG). You may ask why? None of the above issues causes as much concern about Turkey's security and future as Syria and Iraq. The Biden administration believes that it is losing activity in working on a political transition in Syria, losing its weight on the battlefield to Russia, and this dynamic needs to be radically changed. To this end, while the policy of the Obama era continues, when Biden was vice president, namely, the policy that rejected Turkey and condemned the United States to cooperate with a terrorist group, the US military presence "on the ground" is associated with an offshoot of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) in Syria. The funny thing is that by pursuing such a policy, the United States conditions the support provided to a terrorist organization for such a difficult acceptable reason as the fight against ISIS*. Is the target ISIS*? Or the creation of a PKK mini-state?

Please note: all this comes from the fact that the foreign policy decisions made by Turkey contradict the interests of the United States. And let's take the opposite position! And then what?

We will hide the S-400s that we purchased from Russia in a warehouse, announce that we will use them only in exercises, by analogy with the rhetoric of Greece. Will the F-35 crisis be resolved? I think so.

We will announce that we have abandoned the decision to create two States in Cyprus, revoked our agreement with Libya, and retreated from our policy of equal distribution in the Eastern Mediterranean.

Let's recognize the so-called "Armenian Genocide". We will agree with all the requirements of Yerevan.

Let's accept the PYD/YPG, which is an offshoot of the PKK, as a party to the negotiations, and let this terrorist structure create a state in Syria, let's leave the security zones that we have created in the SAR.

Let's forget the question of what interest the United States has in the terrorist organization FETÖ. Let's leave aside the fact that the leader and members of the organization live in luxury in the USA.

In the Caucasus, we will reduce our support for Azerbaijan, both political and military. Let's say "yes" to Armenia's theses.

Let's close our eyes to the fact that Sweden and Finland welcome with open arms every member of a terrorist organization hostile to Turkey, allow any actions on their part in their countries, constantly accuse Turkey, and approve the membership of these two states in NATO.

If we do all this, will our relations with the US and the EU win the trust of the opposite side? I think so.

And is there anyone who believes that Turkey is wrong in these matters? I think not. Trust and respect in international relations are linked to the principle of reciprocity. The West looks at this only from its side. You may ask, when does this point of view change? When he needs Turkey!
