In the future, the Russian army may receive equipment that makes the fighter invisible to thermal imagers and allows him to merge with the terrain. The development of chameleon equipment is already underway, said Vladimir Kormushin, CEO of Cuirass CJSC.
"Cuirass" is developing new equipment, this has become possible thanks to the use of new materials with the necessary properties. As Kormushin explained, the task is to disguise the fighter not with the help of various electronic or other devices, but with the use of materials that can change their color thanks to special dyes. Ideally, it will be a kit that can adapt to the environment, time of day, etc., that is, in fact, a chameleon.

Developments on this topic can be applied to create equipment for the soldier of the future "Legionnaire", which should appear in the mid-30s. According to Kormushin, a prototype of the "Legionnaire" may appear as early as 2025, and in 2035 the equipment will begin to be mass-supplied to the troops. "Cuirass" also participates in the creation of new equipment, developing a combat protective kit (BZK), winter camouflage and glasses, i.e. all the same as for the "Warrior".
The Russian army currently uses the second-generation equipment "Warrior", which in the future should be replaced by "Centurion", and then it will come to the "Legionnaire".
