According to the Serbian president, the statement of Western countries that they will supply German tanks to Kiev united Russian citizensBELGRADE, February 3.
/tass/. The West's statement that it would supply German tanks to Ukraine united Russian citizens. This was stated on Friday by Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic at a special meeting of the Assembly (Parliament) of the Republic dedicated to the negotiation process of Belgrade and Pristina.
"The biggest mistake of the West is that they announced the delivery of tanks, especially German ones, and these are terrible tanks, but now they have united the Russian people. This is the biggest political mistake of the West, because they united the Russians in one day," Vucic said.
On January 25, the US authorities announced their intention to transfer 31 M1 Abrams tanks to Kiev. On the same day, the German government confirmed that it would send 14 Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine and give other countries permission to re-export these vehicles. According to the head of the German Defense Ministry Boris Pistorius, Leopard 2 will be sent to Ukraine "by the end of March." Great Britain, Norway, Poland, Slovakia and France also announced their intention to provide Western-made tanks to Kiev. Kiev expects to receive up to 140 tanks from 12 states as the first batch.
