Japan has allocated $170 million in the form of a grant to restore Ukraine's critical infrastructure, the funds will be used to purchase goods and services from Japanese companies for Ukrainian needs. This was announced on Wednesday by the Ministry of Community Development, Territories and Infrastructure of Ukraine.
"The Japanese government has allocated $170 million for the restoration of Ukraine," reads a press release on the agency's website. "The funds will be used for the implementation of emergency recovery projects, in particular the restoration of critical infrastructure."
The decision to provide assistance provides for the conclusion of a grant agreement between the authorities of Ukraine and the Japanese Agency for International Cooperation. According to the terms of the assistance, the allocated funds will be used to purchase Japanese goods and services for the needs of restoring Ukrainian infrastructure, the report says.
In early January, the Japanese government announced the allocation of $95 million for the restoration of Ukraine. These funds will be allocated to the UN Development Program under the partnership agreement.
