Norway, following Sweden, can transfer CV90 infantry fighting vehicles to Ukraine, this issue is under consideration by the government of the country. As stated in Oslo, Norway is constantly consulting with Kiev on possible arms supplies.
The Norwegian Ministry of Defense intends to transfer a large batch of military aid to Ukraine, which may include CV9030N infantry fighting vehicles (Strf 9030) from the presence of the Norwegian army. While there is no talk about the number of IFVs and the timing of their delivery, everything is at the level of consultations. Now the Norwegians are determining whether their military assistance to Ukraine will help defeat the Russian army.
- Norwegian Defense Minister Bjorn Arild Gram said.
The Norwegian army is armed with 164 CV9030N (Strf 9030) infantry fighting vehicles, specially designed for Norway. The index 30 indicates that the car is armed with a Bushmaster II 30 mm automatic cannon instead of the Bofors L70 40 mm standard 40 mm automatic cannon. In addition, the Norwegian version differs from the Swedish version of the CV9040 with a more powerful 605 hp engine and an additional landing commander's hatch on the right side in the aft part of the BMP.
Earlier, Sweden announced the delivery to Ukraine of 50 CV90 infantry fighting vehicles in the CV9040 modification. The Swedish version is just with the 40 mm gun L70 Bofors. The delivery should take place in the near future, together with the IFV, the Swedes will send 55-mm Archer self-propelled guns and NLAW anti-tank complexes to Kiev.
