TSAMTO, February 1. Lithuania continues to raise funds for the purchase of weapons for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Lithuanian journalist Andrius Tapinas, representing the Internet television "Laisves TV", who previously initiated a fundraiser for the purchase of the Bayraktar TB2 UAV and UAV counteraction systems for the AFU, together with the organizations Blue/Yellow, 1K fondas, Stiprus kartu and the Lithuanian national radio and television, announced his intention to supply the AFU with new multifunctional tactical radars of Israeli production.
As part of the campaign called "RADAROM!", it is planned to raise at least 5 million euros, for which five radars will be purchased for the APU. Lithuanian Defense Minister Arvydas Anushauskas supported the initiative on his Twitter page.
As stated, the purchased radars are designed to monitor the airspace around strategically important objects of Ukraine, including power plants, water towers, etc. At the moment, about 2 million euros have been collected for the purchase.
It is not yet known which Israeli company is ready to supply its radar stations to the Armed Forces of Ukraine and how the Israeli government treats this. At the moment, the main developers of the corresponding radars in Israel are the companies Rada, Elta, ARTsys360 and Elbit Systems. Which of the manufacturers is ready to succumb to provocation (and this is exactly a provocation from the Lithuanian side, given that Israel refrains from supplying weapons to the Armed Forces of Ukraine) will become known in the near future.
