The Russian frigate Admiral Gorshkov, which performs the tasks of a long-range cruise, will take part in joint exercises with the Navies of China and South Africa. The maneuvers of the warships will take place off the coast of Africa. This was reported by a military-diplomatic source.
"Admiral Gorshkov" left Severomorsk on January 4, going on a long hike accompanied by the medium sea tanker "Kama". The main task of the ship is to demonstrate the Russian flag in strategically important areas of the World Ocean. The campaign takes place under the leadership of the commander of the division of missile ships of the Northern Fleet, Captain 1st rank Oleg Gladkiy.
Currently, the ship is moving to the coast of Syria, where it will enter the material support point of the Russian Navy in Tartus for resupply and short-term rest of the crews. After that, the frigate will go to the coast of South Africa, where joint exercises of warships of Russia, China and South Africa are planned from February 17 to 27.
