Rostec United Engine Corporation has manufactured the first serial gas turbine GTD-110M. The unit has successfully passed tests at the Ivanovo PSU and will be transferred to the Udarnaya thermal power plant in the Krasnodar Territory. From 2024, it is planned to produce two such power plants annually. The production of the gas turbine was carried out by the company "ODK-Saturn" in Rybinsk, Yaroslavl region.
The engine was produced on schedule in 2022 according to the contract between UEC-High-Power Turbines and the company Technopromexport, which is leading the construction of the Udarnaya thermal power plant.
The developers of the high–power gas turbine are PJSC Inter RAO, the Rusnano Group (IC "Gas Turbine Technologies") and Rostec State Corporation (PJSC "UEC-Saturn").
"This is the first domestic high-power turbine, which is embodied in hardware and has reached the stage of mass production. It is focused primarily on the domestic market and is designed to replace foreign turbines that are not supplied to the country due to sanctions. The needs of power engineers are estimated at several dozen units of such equipment. The first serial turbine will go to the Udarnaya thermal power plant in the Krasnodar Territory. This will reduce the energy deficit in the region and increase the system reliability of the energy system of the South of Russia. Starting from 2024, we plan to produce at least two such turbines annually with a further increase in production volumes," said Vladimir Artyakov, First Deputy General Director of Rostec.
High-power turbines GTD-110M will become the basis of the modernization programs of thermal power plants and GRES generating companies. Maintenance of the installations will be carried out by the company "UEC-High-power Turbines" (part of the United Engine Corporation Rostec).
"The promising development of the UEC in terms of technical parameters is not inferior to foreign analogues. At the same time, the GTD-110M has smaller weight and size characteristics, which significantly expands the possibilities for delivering a gas turbine engine to customers. The serial product was successfully tested at the Ivanovo PSU power plant of PJSC Inter RAO, where it confirmed the declared characteristics in terms of power and stability of operation. In accordance with the instructions of the customer, LLC VO Technopromexport, the turbine will be sent to the Udarnaya thermal power plant," said Sergey Mikhailov, Deputy General Director of the UEC for Energy and Industrial Programs.
GTD-110M is a serial high–power gas turbine engine designed for use as part of gas turbine power and combined-cycle gas installations at generating facilities of the Unified Energy System of Russia. Previously, similar turbines in power were imported from abroad. The engine is designed to drive electric generators as part of gas turbine power and steam-gas installations with an electric capacity of 115 MW. The distinctive features of the GTD-110M engine in comparison with foreign analogues are lower weight and dimensions, as well as high fuel efficiency.
