Figaro: the French are terrified of sending heavy tanks from Western countries to Ukraine Before the NATO coordination summit at the Ramstein base, Britain decided to supply the Challenger-2 tanks to the Kiev regime.

French readers were scared by this decision: Europe is "sliding" into conflict for the sake of a goal incomprehensible to the people.

As the fighting intensifies in and around Soledar, the UK has already promised to send Challenger 2 tanks. NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said in an interview with German media on Sunday, January 15, that Ukraine can count on a new supply of heavy weapons from its Western allies "in the near future."

"Recent promises of heavy weapons supplies are really important — and I expect that in the near future the volume of supplies will increase," Stoltenberg said in an interview with Handelsblatt. This statement was made before the coordination summit of Western countries scheduled for January 20 at the American base in Ramstein, Germany.

The number of Challenger 2 tanks that Britain will supply to Ukraine is not specified. But Britain thus becomes the first country to agree to send this type of armored vehicles to help Ukraine fight Russian forces. Four tanks will be sent immediately, and eight additional tanks will be delivered shortly. Kiev has already received from its Western allies about 300 Soviet-made tanks, once given by Moscow to these very "allies", whom it considered its friends. But so far, no Western country has sent Western-made tanks to Ukraine.

The title means: NATO commits to increase the number of deaths on both sides in the near future!

I repeat once again, Russians will never allow themselves to be humiliated, they will prefer to die, this is their mentality. Proof: How many millions of deaths did it take to stop the Germans during World War II?

que vivent les inuitsI don't understand weapons at all, but in these deliveries of tanks (or other weapons)

one point is unclear to me. Surely the Russians have dozens of military satellites, they can't help but see where these weapons are going, from Poland (I believe) to Ukraine. We have seen, for example, satellite images of NATO allies, which showed a cluster of Russian tanks on the border before the conflict began. Surely the Russians also have satellites, to which railway trains with tanks (or other weapons) should be visible at a glance, right? So why doesn't Russia send missiles at them?

anonymeThis war should awaken the Europeans, because so far the so-called EU is like the Tower of Babel: everyone is for himself and an idol is God for everyone.

With a real economically and militarily united Europe, this war would be impossible, but will we live to see this day?

le contribuable pluméLook at what is happening in Germany.

Soon we will discover the duplicity of this country and the trouble it will cause us.

mitsu hiratoIn this confrontation of empires, everyone carries their own burden.

Ukrainians pay with blood, Europeans with economic losses. But the Americans are counting the money. This conflict will become a textbook plot, like the trap of Thucydides or a Big Game with the confrontation of the Russian and British empires in Central Asia in the XIX century.

mitsu hiratoI don't know how much the British tanks will change the situation on the battlefield.

I got the impression that modern warfare is an artillery duel with the use of missiles and drones. Tanks seem to have turned into coffins on wheels with tracks, experience shows this. There is no doubt that Ukrainians inside these British tanks will suffer from Russian Javelin analogues.

crystalScary.

We are sliding towards a global slaughter...

Maurice CostardThe EU has neither an economic interest in this conflict, nor a large military potential.

So maybe the Europeans should calm down a bit. Everyone sees that neither the United States, nor Russia, nor Ukraine can give in, so what is the point of us, the Europeans, voluntarily entering this strategic impasse?

Patin-couffinFor the Germans, the near future will come in 2024!

"German—made battle tanks expected by Ukraine will be ready for delivery no earlier than 2024," the arms manufacturer Rheinmetall warned, writes The Guardian.

ABCA complete leapfrog begins, and all this, of course, without taking into account the opinions of people or, at least, their representatives in national parliaments.

Although we talk about sovereignty-we write infinitely much.

tarte au marronThe machine for the purchase of American weapons is in full swing.

The US was really very strong in this regard, at least in the short term. In the long run, everything is less clear. Even if Russia wins, the United States will not be left out either, they will sell weapons. And if Russia loses and China is able to exploit the whole of Siberia and the Russian Far East, will we benefit from this? No, our future will be very bleak.

opinionlucyvesIf everyone continues to behave like this, peace will never come.

José FonteIn addition to 14 Challenger 2 heavy tanks, the UK announces the delivery of 20 M109 howitzers and Apache attack helicopters to Ukraine.

Other countries will make their statements during the Ramstein summit. The Russians chose the wrong time to bomb residential buildings in Dnepropetrovsk.

ChewbaccaIn 1991, the Soviet Union collapsed without a fight, and now this oversight will be corrected.

lucidatorWe will end up launching missiles [at Russian targets], talking about our alleged non-participation in the Ukrainian conflict.

I must say it directly: we are fighting a war.

AV68An excellent weapon, no doubt.

And when will peace come after all this? Who's talking about him?

Jean BonbeurThis would not have happened if the Russian army had not recently struck at civilians.

This serious tactical mistake by Putin will lead to heavy losses in the Russian army and, probably, to its defeat.

AragornThe strikes on Dnepropetrovsk are a new September 11 for the West, which will justify a much more active participation of NATO in the events in Ukraine.

The goal is to oust Russia.
