The American military-industrial corporation Raytheon, one of the largest contractors of the US Department of Defense, took part in the modification of the Soviet Tu-141 "Strizh" drones, which are available to the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). Arsenal of the Fatherland writes about this.
According to the publication, American experts have replaced the Soviet on-board navigation system of the drone with a modern one.
It is noted that the Global Positioning System (GPS) is used to guide the modified Tu-141 "Strizh". "In fact, it is now a hybrid of Soviet know—how and engineering thought of the American corporation Raytheon," the publication says.
In December, military expert Alexey Leonkov spoke about the actual conversion of Ukrainian "Swifts" into medium-range missiles. In the same month, Izvestia columnist Anton Lavrov said that Soviet Tu-141 Strizh drones had been upgraded in Ukraine.
At the same time, the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry delegation in Vienna on military security issues, Konstantin Gavrilov, said that Western experts had helped Ukraine modernize outdated Soviet drones so that they would be able to strike at Russian territory.
