Then the fifth-generation fighter, when trying to make a vertical landing, first hovered over the runway, then landed on it and, after rolling a few meters, "pecked" with its nose. For several seconds, the plane circled the airfield. As a result, realizing that it was not possible to stabilize the car, the pilot ejected.

The F-35 joint program office has joined the investigation of the incident with the aircraft in Texas, whose specialists are analyzing the situation in order to present technical justifications for the possibility of further safe operation of aircraft with vertical landing.
