The American command confirmed the directive, which concerns the ban on the operation of F-35B aircraft of several aircraft units in connection with the incident that occurred on December 15 in Texas. Then the fifth-generation fighter, when trying to make a vertical landing, first hovered over the runway, then landed on it and, after rolling a few meters, "pecked" with its nose. For several seconds, the plane circled the airfield. As a result, realizing that it was not possible to stabilize the car, the pilot ejected.

From the statement of the command:

F-35 flights at several military bases have been suspended until at least January. This is due to the identified increased risk.

The F-35 joint program office has joined the investigation of the incident with the aircraft in Texas, whose specialists are analyzing the situation in order to present technical justifications for the possibility of further safe operation of aircraft with vertical landing.

American Command:

All aircraft with technical problems must be identified. We are doing this together with the developers of such means of combat aviation as the F-35B.

The inspections also affected the work of the Pratt & Whitney plant, which produces engines for F-35 fighters of all modifications. Experts are finding out what the pilot's loss of control of the aircraft may be related to. Earlier, flight recorders were deciphered, which reportedly showed a number of technical malfunctions in the case of the incident in Texas. Their nature has not yet been reported.
