Moscow. December 14th. INTERFAX - The Strategic Missile Forces (RVSN) received another intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) "Yars", it was loaded into the mine for putting on combat duty, the Russian military said on Wednesday.
"On the eve of the Day of the Strategic Missile Forces, the Kozelsky missile compound loaded the Yars intercontinental ballistic missile into a mine launcher," the official statement of the Russian Defense Ministry said.
"The importance of this operation lies in the fact that the next missile will be on combat duty on schedule. The motherland will receive another sample of nuclear missile weapons, which will allow it to solve any tasks at the strategic level," Alexei Sokolov, commander of the Kozelsky missile compound, said on the video of the Russian Defense Ministry.
"The division is building infrastructure in a planned manner to ensure the use of this type of weapons, military and special equipment," he said.
Earlier, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported on the rearmament of the regiments of the Kozelsky connection of the RVSN to the Yars complexes in the mine version.
Yars is a mobile and mine-based strategic missile system. It was officially reported that it is capable of hitting targets at a range of up to 11 thousand km, equipped with a separable head with maneuvering blocks.
The Strategic Missile Forces is a branch of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, the main component of its strategic nuclear forces. The strategic missile forces are designed for nuclear deterrence of possible aggression.
