Moscow. December 9th. INTERFAX - Russia is strengthening the Arctic grouping, considers the Northern Sea Route a national transport communication, said the commander-in-chief of the Russian Navy Nikolai Evmenov.
"Taking into account the foreign policy situation, some hotheads are trying to say that the Northern Sea Route is an international transport route. This is not an international, but a national Russian way, this is the facade of our country, it will be reliably protected," Evmenov said in an interview with the Russian Defense Ministry's Zvezda TV channel.
"The concept of the Russian Arctic was, is and will be. And in order for it to really have a monolithic character, our Armed Forces of Russia, in particular the Navy, should be there," the commander-in-chief said.
He said that all decisions to strengthen the Arctic grouping are being implemented.
