The second stage of the implementation of the Smart Shop digital platform has been completed at the UEC-Saturn enterprise (part of the Rostec United Engine Corporation), where gas turbine engines are produced. The product is developed on the basis of domestic digital technologies and allows you to monitor the performance of machines and product quality in real time. In the future, this platform will be able to be used for digitalization of other Rostec enterprises and Russian industry. "Digitized" through and through
"Digitalization of industry", "Industry 4.0", "Internet of Things" – today these terms from the language of futurologists and theorists are gradually moving into the everyday practical plane. The development of IT technologies in recent years provides opportunities for the technical implementation of the boldest ideas for the digitalization of enterprises. And if a few decades ago it was only about the automation of individual processes, today we are talking about the use of digital technologies as end-to-end, combining all stages of production and its servicing activities.
Among the advantages of Industry 4.0, or the Fourth Industrial Revolution, analysts call increased productivity, improved labor safety, and the creation of fundamentally new products. "Digitization" affects both vertical and horizontal interaction, affecting work with suppliers, partners and customers, but the most extensive changes are already taking place in production.
The technologies of the future are already here
The introduction of the Industry 4.0 concept involves the mass application of cyber-physical systems in production, in which all physical entities include a digital component. Internet of Things (IoT), virtual and augmented reality (VR/AR), big data and artificial intelligence – these technologies will determine the development of industry in the coming years.
The industrial Internet of Things allows smart devices to exchange data directly without human intervention, speeding up and simplifying many processes. VR/AR technologies are already being used for training and work of specialists in production in the most highly intelligent areas. Working with Big Data and artificial intelligence is bearing fruit, helping to calculate risks and predict equipment breakdowns, and cloud services provide continuous shared access to important resources. Rostec enterprises are developing almost all areas of the "Industry 4.0" concept and are implementing advanced digital systems at their production facilities.
Workshop 4.0
This year Rostec presented the Smart Shop program. It is designed to combine production at industrial enterprises into a single digital space, which will improve equipment performance and improve product quality. The machine tool holding "Mechanics", the group of companies "Digit" and the Moscow State Technological University "Stankin" participate in the implementation of the program.
Since the beginning of this year, the digital platform "Smart Shop" based on the products of GC "Digital", the largest supplier of technologies for the digitalization of industry, is already being implemented at the Rybinsk "UEC-Saturn". The company is part of the Rostec United Engine Corporation and produces gas turbine engines for aviation and industrial use. Digitalization works are carried out at the Turbine Blades Manufacturing Competence Center, where one of the most complex elements of gas turbine engines is being created.
In November, the second stage of the platform implementation was completed, during which ten units of metallurgical equipment were connected to the general software and 60 automated workplaces were created. Thus, 70 objects of the Center already supply information to the monitoring system of the enterprise.
At the third stage, the system will be tested. The Smart Shop platform will allow moving from manual production management to more objective management based on the results of processing a large amount of data, will help to evaluate the efficiency of the enterprise and on this basis make management decisions at all levels of the enterprise management.
The introduction of the Smart Shop platform at the facilities of UEC-Saturn is the first step towards the development of universal integrated solutions based on domestic software that can be scaled to other Rostec enterprises and the Russian industry as a whole, which, in turn, will accelerate the transition to Industry 4.0 standards.
