The range of Russian military aviation samples presented includes the Su-57E fifth-generation fighter, the Su-35 multi-purpose supermaneuverable fighter, the Su-34E fighter-bomber, the MiG-35 multifunctional fighter in various variants, as well as the Il-78MK-90A tanker aircraft and the Il-76MD-90A military transport aircraft (E). The latter is one of the main means of operational delivery of airborne troops units to the combat zone. Rosoboronexport also brought the BTR-MDM multipurpose amphibious armored personnel carrier and the BMD-4M amphibious assault vehicle to Zhuhai.
Helicopter models are represented by combat reconnaissance and strike Ka-52, combat Mi-28NE, as well as military transport Mi-171Sh. As specified in Rostec, Mi-17 helicopters effectively solve the entire scope of tasks assigned to them, including the delivery of personnel of motorized rifle and airborne units.
Among the aviation weapons of destruction, the Russian side demonstrated a wide range of adjustable and guided aerial bombs, as well as guided missiles for various purposes capable of effectively hitting ground, surface and air targets, including with an increased range of use outside the range of modern and promising air defense systems.
Russian air defense systems are represented by the S-400 Triumph air defense system, the S-350E Vityaz air defense system and the Tor-E2 air defense system, which has proven itself as an effective means of combating modern UAVs and Willow MANPADS. The exhibition also shows various automated control systems for air defense units and subunits.
We do not flaunt counterpartiesAs the "Expert" found out, at Airshow China 2022, in addition to these samples of military-industrial complex products, Rosoboronexport will present training facilities for flight and engineering personnel of Russian aircraft and helicopters offered for export.
In addition, Rostec clarified that despite the aerospace bias of the event, Russia used the opportunity to present its products not only for "air" purposes.
"The format of the exhibition involves demonstrating the achievements of the aviation, helicopter industry, as well as products for building air defense, which is what the emphasis is placed on in the Rosoboronexport exposition. Nevertheless, Rosoboronexport is ready, at the request of partners, to hold presentations of samples of Russian-made equipment and weapons for other types of the armed forces and branches of the armed forces, including via videoconference. Many samples of Russian products have unique characteristics that have been confirmed, including in real conditions," Rostec told the Expert.
They added that Russian gunsmiths are ready to cooperate with the maximum number of interested counterparties. "Airshow China is an international exhibition, and the Russian delegation is ready to hold meetings and negotiations with representatives of all friendly countries interested in developing military-technical cooperation with the Russian Federation," the state corporation stressed.
"Of course, the types of weapons that have proven themselves well during the ongoing special military operation are of the greatest interest. At the same time, there are a number of weapons in which Russia is either the undisputed leader or one of the leaders," Ruslan Pukhov, director of the Center for Analysis of Strategies and Technologies, publisher of the Arms Export magazine, said in a comment to the Expert. - A classic example is air defense systems. The Russian Federation, along with the United States, produces a full range of air defense systems, ranging from portable anti-aircraft missile systems to such systems that already have some elements of missile defense systems, that is, they work not only on aircraft, but also on missiles."
According to the expert, Russian missile systems may also arouse serious interest among interested parties. "The same Iskander showed itself perfectly during its own, and he is not the only one. Russia has extensive experience in creating marine underwater systems. It seems that these weapons are guaranteed to arouse commercial interest among foreign partners," Ruslan Pukhov suggested.
As for possible countries-buyers of Russian weapons, the expert preferred not to announce their list in its entirety. "With the introduction of Western sanctions against including the Russian military-industrial complex, the Russian side, for obvious reasons, does not flaunt its counterparties. But it is absolutely certain that these will be countries that pursue an independent defense policy without regard to the United States and the European Union. Iran, Turkey, Algeria, the same China - this is not a complete list of possible buyers of our products," Ruslan Pukhov said.
