In each case, their attempts were unsuccessful, and the losses were huge. Nevertheless, experts believe that there is no talk of a complete grinding of the strike groups in the Far East. The group advancing from the Kharkiv region is trying to find a weak spot, regardless of losses: this section of the front remains quite difficult so far. On the same day, the Ministry of Defense told about another provocation of the Kiev forces at the Zaporozhye NPP.
Fortified defense
The Russian armed forces continued to repel attacks by Ukrainian formations over the weekend.
— In the Kupyansk direction, the battalion tactical group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, reinforced by the formation of nationalists, tried to attack the positions of Russian troops on a narrow section of the front in the direction of the settlement of Novoselovskoye of the Luhansk People's Republic, — said on Sunday, November 6, the official representative of the Ministry of Defense, Lieutenant General Igor Konashenkov.
According to him, the attackers were stopped, fire strikes are being inflicted on them. A day earlier, in the same direction, the VFU tried to attack Russian positions with forces up to a battalion tactical group. As a result, they were defeated: three tanks, two infantry fighting vehicles, three armored vehicles and five cars were destroyed.

Last Friday, Russian troops also stopped the attacks of two company tactical groups there — the units of the VFU were thrown back to their original lines. According to General Konashenkov, during the battle, Ukrainian troops lost more than 110 servicemen, three tanks, two armored fighting vehicles, five pickups and 14 Humvee and Kozak armored vehicles.
On Sunday, an attack by a company tactical group of the enemy was thwarted near the settlement of Kotlyarivka, Kharkiv region. The VFU units that were advancing were hit — the Ukrainian forces lost up to 200 servicemen, eight tanks, nine armored fighting vehicles and eight pickups.
Despite the heavy losses of the VFU, there are no signs yet that the Ukrainian offensive group has been ground, military expert Vladislav Shurygin told Izvestia.

— The direction remains threatening, — the expert noted. — At such a cruel price for themselves, they are trying to find a place where they can try to attack. And judging by how many weapons are being dragged into Ukraine, I think they will still try to break through the defense. Because without Kherson, their entire September offensive does not play a big role. The capture of the "Sherwood forest" near Kharkov is not a strategic success, it does not solve anything. Therefore, they are constantly maneuvering, trying to find a weak spot to advance to large settlements and thereby distract our forces. We should expect that they will still try to twitch. It is necessary to conduct reconnaissance necessarily, to assess the situation.
In the area of the settlement of Krasny Liman in the DPR, up to a hundred militants of national formations and foreign mercenaries, including about 40 mercenaries from the United States, Great Britain and Poland, as well as 10 armored combat vehicles, were hit by a high-precision strike of the Russian Aerospace Forces, the military department reported.
On November 4, high-precision weapons hit the rocket engine manufacturing workshops of the plant in Pavlograd, Dnipropetrovsk region, as well as three workshops of the Kommunar plant in Kharkiv, which produced rockets for multiple launch rocket systems.

In the Krasnolimansk direction, Ukrainian formations launched unsuccessful attacks for three days. On Sunday, the attacks of two battalion tactical groups were thwarted, on Saturday — three company tactical groups of the VFU, and on November 4 — two reinforced motorized infantry battalions. In just three days in this direction, the Ukrainian forces lost more than 400 servicemen killed, about 60 wounded, seven tanks, 12 armored fighting vehicles, 25 cars, a Grad multiple launch rocket system, a self-propelled artillery installation and three pickups.
In the South Donetsk direction, units of the VFU were defeated in the areas of the settlements of Pavlovka, Novomikhailovka and Vremevka in the DPR. Ukrainian losses — up to 70 servicemen, one tank, an infantry fighting vehicle, four pickup trucks and two M777 howitzers manufactured by the United States, the department reported.
On November 6, in the Mykolaiv-Krivoy Rog direction, Ukrainian formations with forces up to a motorized infantry company attacked the positions of Russian troops twice. They were pushed back to their original positions, having lost more than 50 soldiers, eight armored fighting vehicles and ten cars. In addition, two self-propelled artillery installations of the VFU were destroyed by barrage ammunition.

A day earlier, Ukrainian formations there were hit by artillery, assault and army aircraft. Their losses amounted to more than 95 servicemen, ten armored fighting vehicles and ten vehicles for various purposes. On Friday, the positions of Russian troops in this direction were attacked by the forces of two motorized infantry companies reinforced with tanks. All attacks were repulsed, the VFU lost more than 80 servicemen, three armored combat vehicles and four cars.

In three days, the operational-tactical, army aviation, missile troops and artillery of Russia hit the Buk-M1 self-propelled gun, the radar of the S-300 anti-aircraft missile system, 241 artillery units in firing positions, 11 control points of the VFU (including the 15th regiment of the National Guard, units of the 60th Infantry brigades and the 72nd mechanized brigade), the control point of the SBU, the headquarters of one of the units of foreign mercenaries, 11 warehouses of rocket and artillery weapons and ammunition, a storage base for weapons and military equipment and 542 areas of concentration of troops. In addition, as a result of the strike on the VFU missile and artillery weapons depot, 120 rockets of the American HIMARS multiple launch rocket system, 250 rockets of the Smerch multiple launch rocket system and two transport-loading vehicles were destroyed, the department reported.

The air defense forces shot down 29 UAVs, a Tochka-U ballistic missile in the area of the settlement of Kuzemovka in the LPR, 42 shells of the American HIMARS multiple launch rocket system in the areas of the settlements of Antonovka, Novaya Kakhovka, Kherson region, the cities of Donetsk, Leninskoye and Mospino in the DPR, two rockets "Alder" in the area of Antonovka, Kherson region, one American HARM anti-radar missile in the area of the settlement of Novaya Kakhovka, Kherson region, and three Hurricane rockets in the area of the settlement of Chernobayevka, Kherson region. In total, since the beginning of the special military operation, 331 aircraft, 169 helicopters, 2,452 unmanned aerial vehicles, 386 anti-aircraft missile systems, 6,398 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 883 multiple rocket launchers, 3,560 field artillery and mortars, as well as 7,086 units of special military vehicles have been destroyed, Igor Konashenkov listed.

The General also noted that the Kiev regime continues provocations at the Zaporozhye NPP. On Sunday, Ukrainian artillery fired 15 large-caliber shells at Energodar and the territory adjacent to the nuclear power plant. The shooting was conducted from the Dnipropetrovsk region. Fire and maneuver
The Russian Defense Ministry told about the servicemen who showed courage and dedication during the fighting.
During the offensive, the company of Senior Lieutenant Ruslan Garayev destroyed the enemy's long-term firing points and broke through the defense. During the battle, Ruslan's tank destroyed two tanks and a car with ammunition. Developing the offensive, the company restrained the actions of the defending militants, which ensured the passage of the main forces of the battalion tactical group (BTG) deep into the enemy's defenses, the department said.
The platoon of Senior Lieutenant Nikita Galushkin destroyed four MLRS, six artillery pieces, two command posts and a large number of militants. This made it possible to stop the offensive of the VFU, and then throw them back to their original positions, the Defense Ministry said.

The rocket artillery division of Sergeant Alexey Alekseev fought fierce battles. Alexey and his subordinates delivered shells, loaded them into a transport-loading vehicle and loaded combat vehicles. While overloading ammunition, the sergeant noticed a low-flying drone conducting reconnaissance. He immediately reported this to the commander, as a result, the device was destroyed. After that, the division moved to reserve positions and continued to perform tasks to hold defensive lines, the department said.
The division of senior Ensign Sergei Korsunov was liberating the settlement. When the BTG column was moving to the area of the task, it came under fire. As a result, several units of transport following Korsunov's communication vehicle were damaged. Sergey transferred 12 wounded servicemen to his car and took them to shelter, which saved their lives.
The artillery battery of Sergeant Suren Movsisyan supported the offensive of Russian motorized infantry with fire. During the fighting, an artillery crew under the command of Movsisyan destroyed an ammunition depot. Artillery strikes on the defensive lines of the VFU weakened their battle formations, which allowed the motorized infantry to develop an offensive, break through the defense and liberate the settlement, the department said.

The BTG of Senior Lieutenant Vadim Chebotarev needed to gain a foothold in a given area and organize defense. The militants planned to build a crossing over the reservoir in order to attack Russian units. The officer promptly placed the calculation and began firing at the positions of the VFU. His platoon destroyed military equipment and militants.
— Thanks to the professionalism and coordinated actions of Senior Lieutenant Chebotarev and his subordinates, the enemy suffered significant losses, abandoned attempts to return the area and was thrown back to its original positions, — the Russian Defense Ministry said.
The Ukrainian DRG operated near the location of Russian units. Private Alexander Kazikhanov, together with his colleagues, went in search of saboteurs. After reporting their discovery, the scouts joined the battle. Alexander secretly approached a group of militants and threw grenades at the position of the machine-gun crew. Deprived of fire support, the saboteurs fled from the battlefield.

The crew of the radio station of Ensign Vyacheslav Mokrinsky provided communications to the battalion tactical group. During the counteroffensive of the VFU, the hardware and antenna of the radio station were damaged by an exploding shell. Vyacheslav and his subordinates quickly restored the damaged equipment, which made it possible to ensure stable management of subordinate units and repel an enemy attack, the department said.

During the battle, the soldiers destroyed two self-propelled guns and a large number of militants. The damage inflicted by them ensured the breakthrough of defensive positions and the advance of Russian troops deep into the defense of the VFU.
