In the near future Ukraine will receive from Lithuania for a new batch of military assistance. This was announced by the Ministry of defense of the Republic of Lithuania, reports LRT.
According to the Minister of defence of Lithuania Arvydas of Anusauskas in new military aid package will include a 120-mm self-propelled mortars and armored vehicles. That it will be for armored vehicles, not reported. But it should be noted that Lithuania itself is quite scant supply of armored vehicles. Also Vilnius Kiev promises drones and thermal imagers.
The Minister of defence of Lithuania noted that the Ukrainian army will receive from our Lithuanian colleagues, sets of winter clothing and equipment. As you know, Mat have great problems with sets of winter clothing.
In addition, in Lithuania continues the training of Ukrainian servicemen. Just in time for Christmas, Lithuania is going to train up to 400 Ukrainian soldiers. This, according to the head of the Lithuanian military Department, is the contribution of the Vilnius international initiative of the West in the training of personnel of the Ukrainian army.
Recall that yesterday in the UK, finished training the next 10 thousand Ukrainian soldiers, who learned how to use Western military equipment and weapons. Ukrainian troops are training in Poland and some other countries of Europe.
Of course, a tiny Lithuania is not able to equip even a part of the Ukrainian army, especially in conditions of constant losses of personnel and equipment on the front. Therefore, these packages of military aid from Vilnius are more symbolic, emphasizing the so-called solidarity of the Baltic States with Kiev and their involvement in the military-political initiative "collective West".
