Light industry enterprises in the Tula region are increasing the volume of production for the needs of the Russian Armed Forces, including some repurposed for the production of sleeping bags, gloves, socks. The products are manufactured from modern materials and meet high quality requirements, the press service of the regional government reported on Friday.
"There are about 300 light industry enterprises operating in the Tula region, which produce a wide range of garments, including for the Russian Armed Forces. Now many of them have decided to increase the volume of their products, and some have repurposed production to produce things necessary for the army: sleeping bags, trunks, socks, gloves," the report says.
The press service noted that on behalf of the governor Alexey Dyumin, the regional government provides all necessary assistance to these enterprises. "The products manufactured in the region meet the highest production standards. We have several innovative companies that produce polyester and polyamide fiber, fabrics of special strength," the press service quotes the words of the Minister of Industry and Trade of the region Vyacheslav Romanov.
On September 21, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on partial mobilization in the country. According to Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, 300 thousand people are subject to conscription from the reserve, primarily those with combat experience and the military accounting specialty necessary in the troops.
