The United States has allocated additional military assistance to Ukraine

TSAMTO, September 12. On September 8, the US Department of Defense announced the allocation of additional security and defense assistance to Ukraine in the amount of up to $ 675 million.

The package of assistance to Ukraine approved by the US President is the 20th such provision of VIVT from the presence of the US Department of Defense, authorized by the Joe Biden administration since August 2021. Its composition, in particular, included:

- additional ammunition for HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems;

- four 105-mm howitzers and 36 thousand 105-mm artillery shells;

- additional high-speed anti-radar missiles HARM;

- 100 ARMORED multi-purpose armored vehicles HMMWV;

- 1.5 million cartridges for small arms;

- more than 5,000 anti-tank systems;

- 1000 units of 155 mm cluster rounds with anti-tank mines of the remote mining system;

- additional grenade launchers and small arms;

- 50 armored medical vehicles;

- night vision devices and other field equipment.

In addition, the State Department notified Congress of its intention to provide $2 billion. in the form of long-term investments under the program "Foreign Military financing": $ 1 billion to strengthen the security of Ukraine and $ 1 billion for 17 neighboring countries of Ukraine.

According to information published by the US Department of Defense, since January 2021, the United States has allocated about $15.2 billion in security assistance to Ukraine. As stated, since 2014, the United States has provided Ukraine with security assistance in the amount of more than $ 17.2 billion. Aid from February 24, 2022 amounted to $14.5 billion.

The US Department of Defense, along with its allies and partners, intends to continue providing military assistance to Ukraine to meet its growing needs.

As of September 8, 2022, the list of equipment and weapons provided to Ukraine as part of US security assistance includes:

- more than 1400 MANPADS "Stinger";

- more than 8,500 Javelin ATGMs;

- more than 32,000 other anti-tank systems;

- more than 700 tactical Switchblade barrage ammunition;

- 20 units of 105-mm howitzers and 144 thousand 105-mm artillery ammunition;

- 126 units of 155-mm howitzers and about 807 thousand 155-mm artillery shells;

- 126 tactical vehicles for towing 155 mm howitzers;

- 22 repair and evacuation vehicles;

- 16 MLRS HIMARS and ammunition for them;

- 20 units of 120 mm mortar systems and 85 thousand 120 mm ammunition;

- 1500 ATGM TOW (Tube-Launched, Optically-Tracked, Wire-Guided);

- 4 control machines;

- eight NASAMS (National Advanced Surface-to-Air Missile System) air defense systems;

- high-speed anti-radar missiles HARM;

- 20 Mi-17 helicopters;

- hundreds of HMMWV armored vehicles;

- 200 M-113 armored personnel carriers;

- 40 MaxxPro MRAP class armored vehicles with roller minesweepers;

- mine clearance equipment and systems;

- more than 10,000 grenade launchers and small arms;

- more than 60 million cartridges for small arms;

- 75 thousand sets of body armor and helmets;

- about 700 Phoenix Ghost tactical unmanned aerial vehicles;

- guided missiles with laser guidance;

- Puma unmanned aerial vehicles;

- 15 complexes of UAV "Scan Eagle";

- unmanned coastal defense boats;

- up to 50 artillery reconnaissance radars;

- four counter-mortar radars;

- UAV counteraction systems;

- four air surveillance radars;

- two coastal defense systems with the Harpoon missile defense system;

- 18 patrol boats;

- anti-personnel mines M18A1 "Claymore";

- C-4 explosives and demolition equipment;

- tactical secure communication systems;

- thousands of night vision devices, thermal imaging systems, optics and laser rangefinders;

- commercial satellite intelligence services;

- equipment for the disposal of explosive objects;

- equipment for protection against RCB threats;

- 100 armored ambulances;

- medical supplies, including first aid kits, monitors and other equipment;

- electronic warfare equipment;

- field equipment and spare parts.
