From August 25 to August 26, the VFU launched an artillery strike on the station twice. They connected American M777 howitzers to the shelling of the NPP. The destruction of one of them by high-precision weapons was announced by the Russian military department. Also, the Russian Defense Ministry reported heavy losses suffered by two mechanized brigades of the VFU in the Donetsk People's Republic and the Kharkiv region. Experts believe that the Kiev regime plans to disable the station before the scheduled arrival of the IAEA mission in early September.

On the eve it became known that the IAEA delegation may visit the Zaporozhye NPP in the near future — already in early September. This was announced by the first Deputy Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the UN Dmitry Polyansky and confirmed by the head of the International Atomic Energy Agency Rafael Grossi.

— The persistence with which the Ukrainian formations are shelling the Zaporozhye NPP suggests that the Kiev authorities want to permanently disable it before the scheduled visit of the IAEA delegation, — military expert Dmitry Boltenkov told Izvestia. — It is unlikely that even they are ready to create a threat of a full-fledged radiation catastrophe, but it is possible to make the station inoperable on the principle of "so don't get you to anyone" without this. It is enough to destroy power lines and equipment that is not covered with the same concrete armor as on reactors. This is not the first time Kiev has used foreign weapons for strikes. In addition to the M777, British Brimstone guided missiles have already been used here. It is quite obvious that they no longer hope to return it by military means.
Russia also has no obligations to support it in operation, electricity from the NPP goes mainly to the Ukrainian network. So in order to avoid risks, it is worth shutting down and mothballing all power units, under the control and in the presence of the IAEA mission, the expert believes. After that, the threats will be mainly related to the spent fuel storage on the territory of the station.
The defeated brigadier-armed forces of Russia continued to strike at the objects of the military infrastructure of Ukraine on August 26.

Vitaliy found an armed group of Ukrainian nationalists in the forest belt and immediately informed the commander about it. It was decided to join the battle. As a result of the mortar salvo, some of the servicemen from Vitaly's group were seriously injured. The ensign, risking his own life, took the wounded out from under enemy fire and gave them first aid, and then continued the fight, destroying 12 radicals. Some of the nationalists fled from the battlefield.
The bold and decisive actions of senior Ensign Vitaly Shchur thwarted the impending attack on the Russian column, the Defense Ministry said.
Lieutenant Vladimir Tyuterev from the first days of the special military operation carried out the tasks of organizing uninterrupted communication in the troops.
Under heavy enemy fire, Vladimir personally installed a repeater on a tower more than 70 m high. The lieutenant's bold and decisive actions made it possible to organize communication between the command post and the units, despite the use of jamming devices by the enemy.
The communication channel organized by Lieutenant Tyuterev became a reliable means of controlling troops, which made it possible to avoid losses of personnel, equipment and to carry out timely and accurate defeat of enemy objects, the military department stressed.
