Moscow. August 24. INTERFAX - The Russian Ministry of Defense reported that since the beginning of August, according to international agreements, 36 ships have left Ukrainian ports, which have exported over 746 thousand tons of agricultural products.
"As part of the implementation of the "Initiative on Mutual Understanding on the Safe Transportation of Grain from the Ports of Ukraine", 36 bulk carriers, including 19 blocked ones, have been provided from Ukrainian ports since August 1," Mikhail Mizintsev, head of the National Defense Control Center of the Russian Federation, said at a briefing on Wednesday.
According to him, these vessels exported 746037 tons of food - 511700 tons of corn, 28,850 tons of sunflower oil, 50301 tons of flour, 11,000 tons of soybeans, 79172 tons of wheat, 2914 tons of sunflower seeds, 18,500 tons of compound feed, 14,000 tons of sugar beet, 29600 tons of rapeseed.
As reported, in Istanbul on July 22, with the participation of the UN, Russia, Turkey and Ukraine, two documents were signed on the creation of a corridor for the export of grain from three ports on Ukrainian territory - Chernomorsk, Odessa and Yuzhny. The first vessel with 26 thousand tons of corn left Odessa on August 1.
"51 foreign vessels from 14 states remain blocked in six ports - Kherson, Nikolaev, Chernomorsk, Ochakov, Odessa and Yuzhny. There is still a danger for navigation and damage to the port infrastructure from the drift of Ukrainian mines torn from their anchors along the coast of the Black Sea states," Mizintsev said.
