Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko said that due to the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in 2021, the Russian economy received more than 300 billion rubles of additional funds. This is most noticeable in the financial and information and communication sectors. This was reported by Kommersant.
He also spoke about the opening of a new National Center for the Development of Artificial Intelligence. This will allow us to search for new AI solutions for various fields of activity.
Chernyshenko added that in some sectors of the Russian economy, the AI implementation rate reaches 20%, and by 2024 it will increase to 50%. However, this requires money — over 60% of the country's organizations need to increase funding for AI projects.
At the same time, in the last six months, many AI-related areas have faced insufficient funding due to the departure of foreign investors. However, the government assures that by 2024, companies that develop AI will be able to receive state support in the amount of more than 17 billion rubles. Until February 24, it was planned to allocate 5 billion rubles for this.
