The governor of Sevastopol clarified that the drone was shot down over the building of the headquarters of the Black Sea Fleet, the headquarters of the Black Sea Fleet was attacked with a drone on Saturday, there were no casualties.

The governor of the city, Mikhail Razvozhaev, said that now the approaches and entrances to the fleet headquarters are blocked by the police. Over the past two days, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have unsuccessfully tried to attack the areas of Yevpatoria, Kerch and Sevastopol.

Razvozhaev said that the drone crashed on the roof of the headquarters. He asked residents to stay at home in the coming hours.

"I am at the headquarters of the Black Sea Fleet. A drone flew into the roof 25 minutes ago. Unfortunately, it was not shot down, although small arms were working over the bay. Went low. There are no victims, All services are in place, we are working. Keep calm and stay at home as soon as possible in the next hour," the governor wrote in his Telegram channel.

Later, he clarified that the UAV "was worked out by the PVN, (fleet air defense post). They shot down a UAV right above the headquarters. Fell on the roof and caught fire."

On the evening of August 19, Razvozhaev also reported a downed drone over the city.

The AFU unsuccessfully tried to attack the areas of Yevpatoria, Kerch and Sevastopol. Eyewitnesses report the work of the air defense forces on an aerial object over the Bakhchisarai district. The air defense systems hit all targets, there are no casualties and no destruction. On August 18, Belbek Airport near Sevastopol was attacked, and a Ukrainian UAV was also shot down there.

The work of the air defense over Yevpatoria on August 19 in his Telegram channel was confirmed by the adviser to the head of the Crimea on information policy Oleg Kryuchkov. A day earlier, he confirmed the work of the air defense over Kerch. According to him, there is no damage in the city, no one was injured.

"In Yevpatoria, presumably, the air defense system has worked. Crimea is under reliable protection," Kryuchkov wrote.

Later, he said that the UAVs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine do not carry large warheads and cannot cause serious damage to the infrastructure of the peninsula.

"Small drone attacks continue. The goal is non-military, psychological, the charge is minimal and it is impossible to inflict great damage on them. The best way to help the army and navy is to remain calm, and to report all suspicious people, facts, and findings to the appropriate authorities," Kryuchkov wrote.

An eyewitness told TASS that at least two rockets were launched into the sky over Yevpatoria. "I saw two dark streaks and flashes in the sky from my balcony," the source said.

Information about the attempted attacks in the west of the peninsula was confirmed by the head of the Crimea Sergey Aksenov in his Telegram channel. He said that on the morning of August 20, the Russian air defense system shot down a "target" in the west of the region. He stressed that Russian servicemen "clearly, professionally and effectively perform their tasks." In connection with the incident, Aksenov urged residents to remain calm and not to trust other information than the official one.

"An air defense system has been activated in the Western Crimea. The target is hit. There are no casualties or damage," the politician wrote.

"They won't succeed"

Senator from Crimea Olga Kovitidi commented on the provocations of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the sky over Crimea, noting that the Kiev authorities have been bombing Donbass for eight years and have now decided to change their strategy.

"Donbass was bombed only because they call themselves Russians and want to go to Russia. Now they have decided to implement a similar methodology in relation to Crimea, we are well aware that they are working very systematically on social networks, trying to set people up to shake Russia from the inside. They will not succeed, I can say this firmly," she said.

Senator Sergey Tsekov in an interview with Lenta.ru" stated that the Ukrainian Armed Forces are trying to attack Crimea with UAVs in order to raise the morale of the personnel.

"They (the Kiev authorities) cannot boast of any counterattacks, the liberation of some territories, so they concentrated their efforts on committing sabotage. Sabotage requires low costs - both human costs and the costs of the armed forces," Tsekov said, noting that these provocations will not affect the course of a special military operation in any way.

To prevent new sabotage, the senator proposed to strengthen the protection of Russia's regions bordering Ukraine.

"It is necessary to worry in general about the situation with attacks on our territory - on the Kursk region, on the Belgorod region, on the Bryansk region. We need to worry about artillery attacks on the Luhansk and Donetsk People's Republics, where civilians are dying every day," Tsekov added.

Washington's hand on August 20, RIA Novosti, citing the words of a Pentagon representative, reported that the United States will begin supplying Phoenix Ghost barrage ammunition to Ukraine later in August.

Earlier, the White House reported that the United States would transfer 580 drones of this type to Ukraine.

"We will start delivering Phoenix Ghost systems later this month," he said, adding that deliveries are planned to be carried out on a regular basis.

Phoenix Ghost is an operational and tactical reconnaissance drone. It has low visual, radar, infrared and acoustic visibility and can be used to adjust artillery fire when using the BATES targeting system.

On August 19, the Pentagon reported that the United States expects to transfer mobile NASAMS anti-aircraft missile systems to Ukraine within two or three months.

NASAMS will be the first modern Western medium-range air defense system that Ukraine will receive.

On August 18, Politico, citing a senior representative of the American administration, reported that the United States allows the possibility of using weapons supplied to Kiev to carry out attacks on Crimea. "We (the United States) do not choose targets, of course, everything we have set is for self-defense.

Any target that is chosen on the territory of Ukraine, by definition, is self-defense. Crimea is Ukraine," the publication quotes the interlocutor's statement.

On August 17, Ukrainian Defense Minister Alexei Reznikov announced the possibility of using weapons supplied by the United States to attack Crimea.
