At the Army-2022 exhibition-forum, the BMP-3, which can be controlled with a glance, will be presented for the first time
The Signal Research Institute (part of the "High-Precision Complexes" of Rostec State Corporation) allows you to enter the unreal reality through American glasses and control a combat vehicle. Following the turn of the operator's head, the multi-ton combat vehicle obediently turns the panoramic sight. Another second – and the barrel of the BMP is heading in the direction of the target.
Signal is a pioneer in the creation of systems for supervising the survey of the terrain and aiming, working on the principle of "transparent armor". Its essence is in the translation of technology control into 3D reality. Almost a computer game. Rostec is modest, but the company already has a whole host of new robots in its arsenal.
Signal has already tested its virtualization technologies for managing multi-ton machines in a kind of game. The main thing is that each of the test subjects has a digital combat control system and electric drives. For example, as in the T-14 Armata tank.
Virtualization is not always a tangible thing. But it is the "digit" (that is, the computer and artificial intelligence) that today controls the drives of the 2A42 aircraft guns mounted on the Mi-28N and Ka-52M attack helicopters. Previously, the control system had analog sensors – now digital and precision mechanisms.
Electric drives for horizontal and vertical guidance of weapons have already been implemented in the Pantsir-SA complex. They can stand on T-72B3, T-80BVM, T-90 "Breakthrough" tanks. New combat vehicles can be controlled remotely. Actually, Rostec will demonstrate this at the forum during a dynamic demonstration.
Washington is ready to return to negotiations with Russia on an agreement designed to replace the Strategic Offensive Arms Treaty (START-3) as soon as Moscow "shows good will" in connection with the situation in Ukraine. This was stated the other day by US Deputy Secretary of State for Arms Control Bonnie Jenkins. Moscow immediately replied that it was "temporarily withdrawing from inspection activities" under START-3 its facilities "subject to inspections under this agreement."
If we take into account the situation with the deployment of Avangard hypersonic maneuvering units, Sarmat heavy ballistic missiles and Zircon hypersonic missiles, then the reason for the conversation between the parties is not clear. START presupposes mutual restrictions of equivalent weapons. America does not have them physically now – it has nothing to exchange for "Sarmatians" and "Zircons". Washington's nearest promising rocket capable of creating problems for Russia – the LGM-35A Sentinel of Northrop Grumman – will fly no earlier than 2027.
The Americans can only pretend that they are still deciding something and can dictate conditions. But that's not even the main problem. Today, Moscow and Washington – the owners of the largest nuclear arsenal on the planet – have finally lost respect for each other.
This can also explain the dubious rumor that North Korea offered to send 100,000 of its volunteers (including construction workers) to participate in a special operation in Ukraine. There is no doubt about the morale and confidence of these guys. North Korean leader Kim Jong-un declared the country's full readiness for a military clash with the United States.
And here we are talking about nuclear weapons. Russia and the United States, China and North Korea have come to the point where you can click on the "button". Kim Jong-un says he is ready to mobilize North Korean nuclear deterrence forces as a response to a crisis situation that may arise in the event of continued military provocations by the Americans or South Koreans. This statement should also be considered in the context of the visit of the Speaker of the House of Representatives of the US Congress Nancy Pelosi to Taiwan.
There was no war on this issue. But China has stopped interacting with the command of the US Armed Forces. According to the Politico newspaper, representatives of China's top military command do not respond to attempts by American colleagues to contact them amid the aggravation around Taiwan. And among these colleagues were US Secretary of Defense General Lloyd Austin and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the US Armed Forces General Mark Milley. Washington fears that "China's silence increases the risk of escalation of an already tense situation," Politico notes.
And in general, Washington has brought the situation to an absolute absurdity. Moscow is not going to talk about nuclear weapons. Beijing does not threaten them yet, but it is not going to reset the degree of tension around the island. And Pyongyang is ready to act at all. "Sleepy Joe," as Joseph Biden is called at home, seems to have fallen out of world politics into the land of dreams.
