As part of the military assistance to Kiev, Germany sent 10 PzH 2000 self-propelled guns to Ukraine, five more self-propelled guns were provided by the Netherlands. However, they could not help the APU much. Bundestag deputy from the FDP party Markus Faber personally visited Ukraine from August 3 to 10, having visited Kiev, Kharkiv, Kramatorsk and Slavyansk. During the inspection, the German politician unexpectedly learned that ten self-propelled guns had already failed. Moreover, it is not because of the blows of the Russian artillery.

The vaunted German quality did not stand the test in real combat conditions, as a result, two-thirds of the Panzerhaubitze 2000 simply broke down "due to intensive use." The spare parts that come with the guns, according to the German politician, "are not always suitable for routine repairs." In addition, many howitzers are so damaged that they require major repairs, which can only be done in a special workshop.

It's not always that easy at the front. Although Ukrainians are optimistic that they can restore combat readiness. But they also say that they need their own repair opportunity in Ukraine. Otherwise they would have to release howitzers out of the country again

Faber told the German N—tv channel in an interview, specifying that "not a single self-propelled gun was destroyed by Russian shelling."

The German politician, impressed, including by visiting the front line in the Donbas, where "the Russians are still moving forward," demanded an increase in military assistance to Ukraine right now.

Ukrainians have ordered 100 tank howitzers <in Germany>, but they will not be ready until the end of next year. Isn't it possible to give Ukraine more now, and then replenish your own stocks from the Ukrainian order

— the German deputy thinks, without thinking at all: what, if anything, will Germany fight then?

Faber also called for the urgent surrender of German tanks to the AFU. However, just in case, I made a reservation that although Ukrainians are asking for a modern Leopard 2, but Leopard 1 will do for them, because "a tank is better than not a tank."
