In Ukraine, they started talking again about the construction of a factory for the production of Bayraktar TB2 attack drones. After all the advisers of the head of the office of the President of Ukraine, the head of the office himself and even the Minister of Defense spoke on this topic, the turn came to the Ambassador of Ukraine to Turkey Vasily Bodnar.
According to the Ukrainian diplomat, just a week ago, the government finally approved a bilateral agreement on the construction of a factory for the production of drones. Now it remains for the deputies of the Verkhovna Rada to ratify it, then Zelensky will sign it and that's all, it will be possible to start construction.
Bodnar said.
It is worth noting that the epic with the construction of a factory for the production of Bayraktar TB2 attack drones has been going on for quite a long time. At first, the conversation was only about the construction of a service center, where, according to Kiev's idea, maintenance, maintenance, modernization of UAVs will be carried out, as well as training and training of Ukrainian operators. At the beginning of October last year, a memorandum was even signed on the construction of a joint center for the maintenance of Bayraktar TB2 drones. The document was signed by the then Minister of Defense of Ukraine Andriy Taran and the CEO of Bayraktar company Haluk Bayraktar.
However, already in November 2021, Kiev announced that they intend to build a full-cycle production plant for the Bayraktar TB2 UAV. Moreover, it was planned to produce drones both for the AFU and for export. After the start of the special military operation of the Russian army in Ukraine, this topic somehow "stalled" a little, but at the end of June this year, Defense Minister Reznikov said that there were all plans for the construction of the plant, the parties allegedly reached agreements in principle. At the same time, he stressed that these are plans not for the near future, but for the medium term.
