Hong Kong. August 8th. INTERFAX - The Eastern zone of the combat command of the People's Liberation Army of China (PLA) announced on Monday about the next military exercises at sea and in the airspace around the island of Taiwan, the Western press reports.
The PLA noted that as part of these exercises, counteraction to submarines and naval offensive operations are being practiced.
These exercises were announced the day after the end of large-scale exercises that the Chinese armed forces conducted in six areas around the island of Taiwan from August 4 to August 7.
"Some analysts believe that during the exercises and training actions around the island of Taiwan, the entire process of the sea and air blockade and the campaign to control large islands was fully rehearsed," the publication of the Chinese edition of Huanqiu Shibao says.
