The German Chancellor noted that it is not in service with the Bundeswehr
BERLIN, August 2. /tass/. Ukraine continues to receive the latest weapons from Germany, some of which are so modern that they have not yet been put into service by the Bundeswehr. This was announced by Chancellor Olaf Scholz in an interview published on Monday with The Globe and Mail newspaper.
"We supplied all the [weapons] that we had: anti-tank complexes and air defense systems, mines, guns, tons of ammunition and non-lethal assistance. Now we have switched to more complex and expensive systems. Self-propelled howitzers, multiple rocket launchers, anti-aircraft systems, radar stations of counter-battery warfare. Some of these systems are so new that they were produced in small quantities, some of them have not yet been delivered to the German Armed Forces," the chancellor said.
According to him, "Ukrainians are being trained on new and more sophisticated equipment in several places in Germany."
On June 21, the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Alexey Reznikov informed about the receipt of Panzerhaubitze 2000 self-propelled howitzers from Germany. And on July 27, it became known that Germany approved the supply of another 100 howitzers.
On June 21, the German government for the first time published a list of weapons transferred to Ukraine and a plan for further supplies. It includes 30 Gepard anti-aircraft self-propelled guns, an IRIS-T air defense system, three Mars-type multiple rocket launchers, 22 trucks and 80 pickups. There are 38 positions in the list of already delivered weapons and materials, and 25 more are on the list of planned ones. German Defense Minister Kristine Lambrecht said on July 26 that Germany had delivered the promised MLRS to Ukraine.
