TSAMTO, August 1. Poland transfers eight Krab self-propelled howitzers to Ukraine. This, as RIA Novosti reports, was reported on July 30 by Polish Radio.
"Eight Krab howitzers within the framework of the contract signed in June with Ukraine are already ready for transfer to the customer. The last formalities are being completed, and the equipment will be delivered to the territory of Ukraine," the message says.
Also, another group of Ukrainian military personnel who will service these howitzers is currently finishing training in Poland, the radio reports.
It is noted that eight Krab units will be transferred to the Ukrainian troops not without reason. "This is the implementation of the intergovernmental agreement that Poland and Ukraine concluded in Kiev in early June," the message says.
According to the radio, within the framework of the contract for more than 3 billion rubles. The Polish company Huta Stalowa Wola S.A. is to produce 60 Krab howitzers for Ukraine.
In May, Poland donated 18 Krab howitzers to Ukraine. This equipment was supplied from the reserves of the Polish Army.
Krab are howitzers that are in service with the Polish army. The tracked chassis is manufactured under a South Korean license, and the 155 mm cannon is a modification of the British gun. The maximum firing range of the Krab is 40 km with standard ammunition, the rate of fire is 6 rounds/min.
