The Russian military uses barrage ammunition during a special military operation (SVO) in Ukraine. Kamikaze drones are the optimal tool that allows you to quickly hit multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) HIMARS, writes Defence24.
It is noted that HIMARS calculations change position after firing. This makes it difficult to destroy the machines. Russian drones can detect and hit MLRS in a timely manner immediately after the shot. "Unlike a projectile, barrage ammunition can fly for up to an hour in search of targets and do not have to know their location in advance," the newspaper writes.
Russian units use "Cube-UAV" drones. These drones have received an electric motor, which makes them low-noise.
"The answer to the Ukrainian HIMARS should be the ZALA Lancet barrage ammunition, which looks like Israeli Hero drones or a guided missile with a pusher propeller instead of a rocket engine," the publication noted. It is clarified that the Lancet has received an automatic target search system, which allows using artificial intelligence to find objects in a given area.
Earlier in July, a source told RIA Novosti that the Russian military is using upgraded Lancet barrage ammunition as part of a special operation in Ukraine.
