Izhevsk. July 21. INTERFAX - Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin stated the need to restore the machine tool industry, noting that this will help achieve the task of technological sovereignty of the country.
"Machine tool construction is in the focus of our attention... Today, all the lost competencies should not just be restored, but ambitious tasks should be set today to restore the machine tool industry in all directions and ensure the most important task that the president spoke about is the technological sovereignty of our country," Mishustin said on Thursday during a visit to the Kalashnikov concern, accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov.
He praised the concern for the fact that it and the Ministry of Industry and Trade are doing "a program to expand R&D and opportunities to be a center of competence in completely different directions," and, very importantly, is engaged in machine tool construction.
The Kalashnikov brand is known all over the world, and not only for defense products, the Prime minister noted.
"Today we saw special modules: these are kitchen equipment, and please, anything, made of sufficiently reliable and strong materials. These are monitoring systems and unmanned aerial vehicles. But what made me very happy were new tools, metal-cutting machines, numerical control machines, and a very large technological line of new ideas," Mishustin said.
In particular, he noted the injection molding technology, which is an alternative to traditional methods of machining materials. "This is the most important direction. Materials of complex geometric shape can be produced very quickly," Mishustin said.
The head of government was shown a 250 ITV screw-cutting machine and a vertical milling machine, a ball-screw transmission.
Mishustin also looked at the parts made using MIME technology. This technology of injection molding of metal-filled polymer compositions. Advantages of its application: the ability to produce parts of complex geometric shape, a wide selection of structural materials, a minimum amount of finishing, high productivity, cost reduction in comparison with machining by 10-50%, reduction of labor intensity up to 90% of the labor intensity of machining.
The Prime Minister also inspected the mobile autonomous sanitary and hygienic and kitchen modules, which are designed for the rapid deployment of the necessary infrastructure in undeveloped territories.
JSC Concern Kalashnikov is one of the world leaders in the production of combat small arms. It is the flagship of the domestic rifle industry: it accounts for about 95% of the production of small arms. The plant also produces high-precision ammunition and special equipment, remote-controlled combat modules. The civilian product segment includes hunting carbines, sporting rifles, machine tools and tools. Kalashnikov products are supplied to more than 27 countries around the world.
Currently, the concern employs more than 9 thousand people, the plant is one of the three leaders in terms of wages among Udmurtia enterprises.
