TSAMTO, July 15. On July 14, Elbit Systems announced that it had been selected as the supplier of the DIRCM (Directed Infra-Red Counter-Measures) system designed to counter missiles from the IR GOS and the on-board electronic warfare (EW) system to equip the Gulfstream G650 aircraft of the Netherlands Defense Ministry.
The cost of sale and delivery dates of the equipment are not disclosed. Under the contract, Elbit Systems will supply the customer with the J-MUSIC system, along with the infrared passive on-board threat warning system (PAWS IR) for the Gulfstream G650 aircraft, which will provide a high level of protection and redundancy.
To date, the flight time of the ordered DIRCM systems is "hundreds of thousands of hours". They are installed on board aircraft of more than 25 types. Customers include Israel, Germany, the multinational fleet of NATO, etc.
According to Oren Sabag, General Manager of Elbit Systems ISTAR & EW, "the increased threat to aircraft from man-portable air defense systems increases the demand for certified and proven self-defense systems. Elbit Systems' ability to provide comprehensive solutions will enable the company to meet these needs."
