One of the main novelties of the recent military parade in honor of the 60th anniversary of Algeria's independence was the own version of the BMPT created by local specialists.
In principle, information about the work on this machine was received earlier, but only now it became known that about a dozen of them have already been manufactured. According to military experts, this development is the best example of modernization of old equipment.

Thanks to the installation of the combat rocket-gun module "Berezhok" on the chassis of a tank developed by the 60s T-62, a combat vehicle capable of serving in the military for a long time appeared. It is effective against armed pickups common in North Africa, militant groups with RPGs and light ATGMs, as well as armored vehicles, including tanks of various types.
However, it seems that the BMPT data were demonstrated in an incomplete form. There is practically no additional protection on them - only the rear part of the case is covered with anti-cumulative lattice screens. This can still be considered the main drawback of modernization. Probably, in the future, additional booking or dynamic protection will still be installed.
