The new Turkish Bayraktar Akıncı attack drone is serially supplied to the Turkish army, and even exported, the developer company Baykar Makina in January this year announced the conclusion of the first contract for the supply of drones abroad.
The Turkish Defense Ministry does not report on the number of drones received by the troops, but recently a video appeared online in which seven Bayraktar Akıncı drones were filmed on the runway of the airfield and even depict something like the "Elephant Walk" maneuver. The maneuver is one of the military exercises in which the control of a squadron of aircraft is practiced in close formation, when the take-off of fighters occurs at intervals of 20-40 seconds. Such a formation and take-off are practiced in case of real military operations, when it is necessary to lift into the air as many planes as possible in a short period of time.
The Bayraktar Akıncı drone was adopted by the Turkish army in August last year. The official ceremony was held in the city of Tekirdag in the presence of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
The Akıncı drone belongs to the class of "heavy" drones. The wingspan of the Bayraktar Akinci is 20 meters, the length of the device is 12.2 meters, the height is 4.1 meters. The maximum take-off weight declared by the manufacturer is 6000 kg. At the same time, the maximum payload mass is 1350 kg. The declared operating altitude of the flight is 30 thousand feet (approximately 9150 meters), the practical ceiling of the device is 40,000 feet (approximately 12,200 meters), being in the air is 24 hours. The drone can fly in fully automatic mode, land and take off independently. The maximum speed is 360 km/h, cruising speed is 240 km/h.
The drone is equipped with an AFAR radar, six computers with artificial intelligence, a guidance system and six suspension points. The drone is capable of using both conventional and guided weapons.
