The UAZ SGR car, popularly called "Loaf", has been an indispensable attribute of military orders since Soviet times, is actively used by the command staff to move in the rear and is an unpretentious machine in maintenance.
The Loaf is also in demand among airsoft fans, who equip it with means of "defeating" the opponent in the game, including installing modules on the roof with pneumatic systems placed in them. However, the minds of the Russian army were not visited by the idea of such equipment of the UAZ SGR, but already with a combat filling. But the APU followed the path of airsoft players, deciding to turn the car into a mobile firing point.
The photos on the web show a "Loaf" of the Ukrainian military, on the roof of which a so-called "birdhouse" of welded steel sheets was installed to protect the shooter equipped with a single American M60 machine gun (can be used as both light manual and easel weapons).

At the same time, it is unclear why it was necessary to protect the shooter with metal – you can fire all over the car, and not aim at the machine gunner, with an ordinary automatic burst fired at the body, you can cope with the task of hitting the car and its crew. But in general, given the heavy losses in armored vehicles, the APU, as they say, is going the right way with a known destination.
