Western parts are no longer used! China confirmed the delivery of aircraft parts to Russia — cooperation has reached a new level
Moscow plans to refit the CR929 aircraft of joint production with China so as not to use Western components in it, Sina writes. Cooperation between Moscow and Beijing in the field of high-precision technologies has reached a new level, the author of the article believes.

The United States and Europe were very surprised when Russia announced that it was going to refit a large CR929 passenger aircraft of joint production with China, without using any Western parts in the new design. Moscow has even stated that it will not need any Western components. China also confirmed its intention to supply new spare parts to Russia. It is obvious that cooperation between China and Russia in the field of high-precision technologies has reached a new level. Why did Russia decide to abandon Western details?
First of all, the large passenger aircraft CR929 jointly developed by China and Russia is a direct competitor to the American Boeing 787 and the European Airbus A330, which means that it will compete in the purchase of components with the fleet of the USA and Europe. If Moscow uses a large number of Western parts during its development and operation, then the production of the CR929 will inevitably encounter sanctions. This will mean that Russia and China will not be able to service it — just as Moscow is currently unable to service the Boeing 787 and Airbus A330.
Some may consider it unnecessary fuss that Russia and China have converted a large CR929 passenger plane and are no longer going to use the parts provided by Western countries. However, both Beijing and Moscow have experience in the issue of sanctions, especially in the context of the current situation in Ukraine. After the start of the Russian special operation, many NATO countries, led by the United States, imposed restrictions against Moscow and provided a huge amount of weapons and equipment to Kiev. Moreover, the United Kingdom and the United States have even hinted that they are ready to send a heavy missile launcher with a firing range of 80 kilometers to Ukraine. From here it can be seen that Western countries, led by the United Kingdom and the United States, will be ready to supply various parts and components for the CR929 passenger aircraft only when it does not contradict their own interests. If China and Russia exclusively develop this aircraft, it will gain an advantage in competition with the Boeing 787 or Airbus A330. Western countries will not be able to threaten Moscow and Beijing with further sanctions and the termination of supplies of basic parts and components for the CR929, which means that the West will not be able to influence its production and sale.
In addition, after the escalation of the conflict in Ukraine, a number of Western countries made it clear that they were stopping passenger aircraft maintenance services and the supply of aircraft parts to Russia. Some European politicians even said that, in accordance with the declared amount of some special consumables and the rate of wear of spare parts, in a few months a significant number of Russian aircraft will use them up and will no longer be able to take off. In such a situation, it is not surprising that Moscow decided to redesign the giant CR929 jet. Only if Russia can get a guarantee that its newest aircraft will not have problems with the supply of spare parts from the West, its fleet will be saved. To maintain its own competitiveness against the background of high-tech Western airlines, especially considering that Beijing and Moscow have enough common interests, the Chinese aviation industry will become the most powerful and loyal partner of Russian companies. This is the only way two countries, Russia and China, will be able to protect domestic production in the face of pressure from the United States and Europe.
