Poland intends to increase the number of the armed forces of the republic to 400 thousand soldiers, as well as completely rearm the army. As stated in Warsaw, the reason for this decision is the threat of a "Russian invasion".
The Polish authorities have outplayed plans to increase the number of the country's armed forces, numbering about 150 thousand soldiers today. Instead of the planned 300 thousand, Warsaw intends to put 400 thousand troops "under the gun". All this is covered up by statements about a possible "Russian invasion" and not a desire to repeat the "fate of Ukraine".
The plans were recently announced by the chairman of the Polish ruling Law and Justice party, Jaroslaw Kaczynski, speaking in one of the Polish cities. In addition to the growth of the army, he also spoke about plans for rearmament. In particular, Warsaw plans to purchase HIMARS MLRS, F-35 fighters, new tanks, air defense systems, etc.

It should be noted that this is the third statement about the increase in the number of the Polish army. First, in 2019, it was decided to limit the number of Polish armed Forces to 200 thousand people, last year it was changed to 300 thousand, this year to 400.
