The naval forces of Ukraine are at risk of becoming completely military-riverine, the fleet command has decided to form a flotilla on the Dnieper. This was stated by the commander-in-chief of the Navy Alexei Neizhpapa.
The first boat division of the Ukrainian Navy has entered service on the Dnieper, it will cover Kiev from the Russian army. Several more divisions will be formed in other cities. As Neizhpapa explained, the "Russian invasion" made adjustments to the use of the Ukrainian Navy.
According to the Ukrainian commander-in-chief, the formation of the first river division on the Dnieper began in March, currently it is equipped with boats and personnel and has already begun service. As Neizhpapa stressed, the division will defend the capital, it is subordinate to the Kiev defense forces. It is planned that it will perform tasks to provide support in the riverine operational areas.

In the future, it is planned to form several more divisions of boats as part of the river flotilla, and the experience of their use will be included in the training program for military sailors in Ukrainian universities to train officers ready to fight not only at sea, but also on rivers.
