JSC "ZiO-Podolsk" (part of the engineering division of the State Corporation "Rosatom" – JSC "Atomenergomash") manufactured and prepared for shipment the first module of the evaporator of the steam generator PGN-200M. The equipment is intended for the modernization of the third power unit of the Beloyarsk NPP in order to extend the life of the BN-600 reactor plant to 60 years.
The module is a vertical straight-tube convective heat exchanger with a bellows compensator on the housing. The evaporator is made of alloy steel. The weight of the device is 20 tons, length – 17 m, diameter – 1 m. In total, 21 modules will be manufactured by the plant for the third unit of the Beloyarsk NPP.
The evaporator modules for BN-600 fast neutron reactor plants include a tube bundle of heat-exchange thick-walled pipes fixed in a 270 mm thick pipe board. In order to ensure the quality determined by the design documentation, the "pipe – pipe board" sealing technology has undergone significant changes during the manufacturing process. Previously, fixing pipes in pipe grids was carried out using pulsed energy sources. Now a combined hydraulic distribution is used – a high-pressure liquid jet with a pressure of up to 600 MPa with mechanical rolling of pipes.
"The implementation of the technology using the hydraulic distribution process included solving the problem of creating an ultra-high pressure in the pipe when distributing inside the hole of the pipe board. A special design of probes with seals was developed and applied, which are placed inside the pipe and water is pumped through them with a special hydraulic distribution unit at a pressure of up to 500 Mpa," explains Viktor Vinnikov, head of the scientific and Technical center for problem technology of JSC ZiO-Podolsk. "The development and implementation of the technology made it possible to ensure high quality of equipment manufacturing, thanks to which it was possible to fulfill the strict requirements of the schedule for the execution of a responsible order."
ZiO-Podolsk is the only manufacturer of steam generator modules for fast neutron reactors in the country. For the first time, this equipment was manufactured by the plant during the construction of the third unit of the Beloyarsk NPP.
