Milrem Type-X
The robotic tank based on the Milrem Type-X combat vehicle (RCV) is a joint project of defense contractors Israeli Milrem Robotics and Norwegian Kongsberg Defense & Aerospace.
During the recent exercises with shooting at fixed targets and armored vehicles, the tank showed good results. The main idea of the project is to create a shock robotic vehicle capable of interacting on the battlefield with tanks and infantry fighting vehicles, using the firing capabilities of a 30—mm Bushmaster automatic cannon that meets NATO standards. However, the Type-X can also be equipped with a 50 mm cannon in combination with anti-tank missiles and a reconnaissance drone. The contribution of the Israeli company to the project is a motion control module with AI elements, which provides autonomous movement through points and obstacle detection. In addition, it has an Indirect Drive system that provides better remote control at high speeds.
