The Russian command is learning lessons from the military campaign in Ukraine, in particular, adjusting plans to replenish the fleet based on the results of its use in the Black Sea. Poland calls for taking into account the experience of the Russian Navy and its conclusions, "despite the fact that this is the Russian fleet."
The publication Defence24 notes that the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation is dissatisfied with the results of the patrol ships of the project 22160 due to the lack of adequate air defense equipment on board. Six units of this type, protected from air attacks only by MANPADS, were intended for anti-piracy operations, but, as the author points out, the KGB fleet was traditionally responsible for patrolling, and then the FSB. There was a calculation that the ships of the 22160 project would receive modular weapons, but who is still there: they are equipped only with a 76-mm AK-176MA gun, two 14.5-mm MTPU-1 machine guns and 8 Igla-S MANPADS.
- it is indicated in the publication, agreeing with the conclusion of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation about the unsuitability of project 22160 for operation in a combat zone.
As the observer explains, the Russian Navy instead of these ships could buy two full-fledged corvettes of project 20380 (type "Watchdog") or even project 20385 (type "Rattling")
- the author notes, calling for the Polish corvette to be given anti-aircraft and anti-ship missiles, sonar stations and anti-submarine torpedo launchers - that is, in fact, to create a new ship.
