The British tabloid The Sun called the upgraded version of our Tu-22M3 strategic bomber "deadly". The authors of the article write that this aircraft poses a serious danger to Western countries, as it is capable of carrying up to 24 tons of bombs and covering a distance of about 7 thousand kilometers.
As a matter of fact, its name according to the NATO classification speaks eloquently about what our bomber is for the West. In the alliance, the Tu-22M3 is designated as a Backfire, which in Russian means "to have unpleasant consequences."
Experts emphasize that even if we do not take into account nuclear missiles, the armament of our aircraft is capable of inflicting truly monstrous damage to the enemy. In particular, the article mentions the FAB-250 and FAB-1500 bombs with high-explosive warhead.
According to Western experts, despite the fact that these munitions were created back in Soviet times and are considered very outdated by modern standards, they have extraordinary destructive power.
In addition, the Backfire can carry a wide variety of missile weapons, including anti-ship X-22 and hypersonic "Daggers".
However, the most alarming thing for Western experts is that our bomber, which develops a speed of over Mach 2, is able to cover a distance of about 7 thousand kilometers. Consequently, not only the whole of Europe, but also the east coast of the USA falls into the zone of destruction of the "deadly" Tu-22M3.
