VLADIVOSTOK, June 14 — RIA Novosti. A detachment of corvettes of the Pacific Fleet as part of exercises in the Pacific Ocean repelled an air strike by bombers of a conditional enemy, the TOPH reports.
The exercises were conducted by the crews of the TOPF corvettes "Perfect", "Loud" and "Hero of the Russian Federation Aldar Tsydenzhapov".
"In the course of performing the assigned tasks, the air defense means of one of the corvettes detected the bombers of a conditional enemy following a course to the area of the detachment's operations. The air defense calculations of the corvettes took the planes of the conditional enemy to escort and carried out target distribution. When the "enemy" aircraft approached the affected area, the crews of the ships conditionally destroyed the target by means of air defense," the report says.
The exercises were held in accordance with the fleet's combat training plan in one of the regions of the Pacific Ocean. Conditional targets were simulated electronically.
The day before, the crews of the corvettes took part in exercises of the grouping of fleet forces in the far sea zone. Now the ships continue to perform their intended tasks.
