Thanks to the supply of spare parts from the West, the AFU was able to return to service the MiG-29 fighter, which had previously been engaged in aerial acrobatics as part of the Ukrainian Falcons aerobatic team. This Air Force unit performed its last flight back in 2001 and was disbanded the following year. Nevertheless, the MiG-29, previously owned by the Falcons, received the same livery after the restoration of combat readiness.
The aerobatic team performed in the period from 1995 to 2002 on five MiG-29s and one MiG-29UB. Therefore, it is more than likely that the aircraft in question was in storage and was mothballed due to the supply of spare parts by Western partners with a fleet of similar machines. As reported on Western resources, the restored MiG-29 is used in the combat zone.

Judging by the video, which shows the placement of the UR under the right wing, the fighter received four short-range missiles R-73 and two R-27, operating at medium range. Both weapons of destruction belong to the "air-to-air" class.
It is not the first time that the APU has reused one of the Sokolov aircraft: in 2014, one MiG-29 was filmed in the appropriate colors.
