MOSCOW, June 7 — RIA Novosti. The high accuracy of the use of operational and tactical aviation of the Aerospace Forces in the framework of a special military operation carried out in Ukraine is provided by the intelligence, control and communications complex (KRUS) "Strelets-M", an informed source told RIA Novosti.
In particular, the source explained, "Sagittarius-M" allows, due to the laser designator-rangefinder included in its composition, to provide guidance to the Ukrainian positions of the X-29L and X-38ML aircraft with a semi-active laser homing head.
"At the same time, fighters and front-line bombers receive target designation from the KRUS in automated mode outside the enemy's air defense zone. When aviation approaches the range of high-precision missiles with a semi-active laser homing head, the complex highlights the target with a laser designator. Immediately after the launch of the missiles, the planes leave the course with an anti—aircraft maneuver," the source added.
According to him, the targets illuminated by the "Sagittarius" are hit both at the forefront and in the depth of the enemy's defense, while the deviation is no more than two to three meters from the aiming point.
The "Sagittarius-M" cruise was actively used in Syria. In particular, in the near zone of fire damage, a reconnaissance and shock circuit was used as part of the Sagittarius intelligence, control and communications complex and the Su-24M bomber.
The Sagittarius-M includes a computer, a satellite navigation system module, a communication module, plug-in devices, including various rangefinders, designators and sights.
CRUZ, in particular, allows the detected target to be displayed on a tablet with an electronic map of the area, after which it is automatically transmitted to the control points via a secure communication channel.
Russia has been conducting a military special operation to denazify and demilitarize Ukraine since February 24. Vladimir Putin called its goal "the protection of people who have been subjected to bullying and genocide by the Kiev regime for eight years."
According to the Ministry of Defense, the Russian army has already completed the main tasks of the first stage — it has significantly reduced the combat potential of Ukraine. The main goal in the department was called the liberation of Donbass.
