TSAMTO, June 3. On June 3, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Yuri Borisov paid a working visit to the enterprises of the United Aircraft Corporation (PJSC UAC of Rostec State Corporation) in Komsomolsk-on-Amur and Irkutsk.
During the visit, the Director General of the UAC Yuri Slyusar reported on the implementation of civil aircraft construction programs and the progress of the state defense order.
At the production site of Irkut Corporation in Komsomolsk-on-Amur, the Deputy Prime Minister was shown the production of the first prototype Superjet NEW aircraft - this is an import–substituted version of the Superjet 100. Andrey Boginsky, Deputy General Director of the UAC for Civil Aviation – General Director of Irkut Corporation, said that mass production is being prepared for the release of a Russified modification of the aircraft. A pool of suppliers of Russian components has been formed. The plant has started the reconstruction of the production complex to create a direct-flow assembly line of the Superjet NEW.
Another task is to ensure the efficient and safe operation of the existing fleet of Superjet 100 aircraft. Today, Russian airlines use about 150 aircraft of this type, and warehouses of spare parts have been created, including a pool of replacement engines.
The delegation also visited the production workshops of Yuri Gagarin KnAAZ, inspected the production of Su-35 and Su-57 military aircraft. We discussed the implementation of the state defense order.
Over the past five years, KnAAZ has implemented a large-scale program of modernization and technical re-equipment of production, including for the development of serial production of new types of aircraft.
At the production site in Irkutsk, the Deputy Prime Minister inspected the production of a promising passenger aircraft MS-21.
The MS-21 and Superjet programs are consistently moving forward, despite sanctions and unfair competition, the Deputy Prime Minister noted. Completion of certification of the MS-21 aircraft with a domestic engine and the Superjet NEW aircraft with the replacement of imported systems and components with Russian ones is planned by the end of 2023. The 2022 plan for the production of Superjet 100 aircraft in Komsomolsk-on-Amur is being implemented. The first cars have already flown to Zhukovsky, where preparations are underway for their transfer to Russian airlines Rossiya and Azimut.
Starting from 2023, the main contribution to the loading of the Irkut Corporation's production center will be made by work on the Superjet NEW program in order to reach serial deliveries by the beginning of 2024.
"The production of Superjet NEW will be consistently increased with the release of at least 20 aircraft annually in the coming years,– said Yuri Borisov. – The main direction of work under the MS-21 program is to conduct flight tests of the MS-21-310 aircraft equipped with Russian PD-14 engines. The tests are going on intensively."
MS-21 received a type certificate with foreign engines in December 2021. Currently, work is intensively underway in a Russified appearance, more than 80 imported systems and units are to be replaced.
In 2018, after the US imposed trade restrictions on Aerocomposite, the development of domestic composites started. In a short time for such a complex task, Russian science and industry have coped. The MS-21 made its first flight with a wing made of Russian composites at the end of 2021.
At the meeting chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Borisov, the possibilities of accelerating the implementation of the MS-21 and Superjet NEW projects, the preparation of serial production and the necessary solutions for the implementation of import substitution of the main systems and units were discussed.
