SEVEROMORSK, June 1. /tass/. At the arsenals of the Northern Fleet (SF) in Gadzhievo and Severomorsk, work has begun on the construction of workshops for the maintenance of marine underwater weapons. This was stated on Wednesday by the commander of the SF Admiral Alexander Moiseev.
"This year, work on the construction of workshops for the preparation and maintenance of missile and marine underwater weapons has been launched at the arsenals in Gadzhievo and Severomorsk," Moiseev said in connection with the Northern Fleet Day celebrated on Wednesday.
According to him, in order to improve the weapons storage system, the construction of 62 modern storage facilities for missiles and ammunition of complex storage arsenals in the cities of Gadzhievo and Severomorsk has been completed, which made it possible to move more than 30,000 tons of weapons to modern storage facilities and ensure the survivability of the logistics system of the fleet forces (troops).
Work continues on the creation of the Arkhangelsk production and logistics complex with the involvement of private investment.
The completion of the measures will ensure the storage of more than 100,000 tons of material assets and 265 units of weapons, military and special equipment, as well as reduce the cost of maintaining facilities by 347 million rubles per year.
