Moscow. June 1st. INTERFAX - The process of joining the development companies of MiG and Sukhoi combat aircraft to the United Aircraft Corporation as part of Rostec has been completed, the press service of the UAC reported on Wednesday.

"The reorganization completes one of the important stages of the corporate transformation of the UAC, which implies, among other things, the transition from a 3-tier to a 2-tier management structure in the corporation. At the same time, the strong and world-famous brands Sukhoi and MiG will remain in the manufactured aircraft, reputable design schools will continue to develop," said Sergey Chemezov, the head of Rostec, whose words were quoted in the press service of the UAC.
According to Chemezov, in this way UAC becomes "an operating company that directly manages production and design bureaus, implements aviation programs and develops promising equipment."
As Interfax reported, the merger of UAC, Sukhoi and MiG was approved by the Board of directors of UAC in November 2021, and in January 2022 it was supported by the shareholders of three companies. Previously, the management of companies was already centralized.
UAC CEO Yuri Slyusar noted that the combined company will focus on the optimal use of the capacities of design bureaus and production sites to improve operational efficiency and create "aircraft of the future, including unmanned systems, hybrid solutions."
"The merger of UAC, Sukhoi and MIG should give a powerful impetus to the development of the entire industry," Slyusar stressed.
The press service of the UAC added that consolidation and centralization of management is also underway in other areas of the UAC's activities. So, in November 2021, the Voronezh VASO aircraft factory, the Ulyanovsk Aviastar-SP enterprise and the Moscow-based EMZ were completed joining PJSC Il. Myasishchev. The powers of the sole executive body (EIO) in relation to PJSC Il itself have been transferred to the UAC. The UAC also has such powers in relation to the center of the strategic aviation division "Tupolev", which includes, in addition to the Design Bureau of the same name in Moscow, the Kazan Aviation Plant (KAZ) named after S.P. Gorbunov.
Enterprises within the UAC develop and produce 100% of domestic military aircraft, as well as civil airliners with a capacity of more than 50 passengers, including Su, MiG, Il, Tu, Yak, SSJ and MS-21 aircraft. To date, the largest share in the structure of production is occupied by military products for both the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation and foreign customers.
Previously, the largest shareholder of the company with a 92% stake was the state, in 2019 this package was transferred to Rostec.
The Sukhoi company serially produces Su-35 fighters and Su-34 bombers in the interests of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, and also fulfills a number of export contracts. In addition, Sukhoi is working on the fifth-generation Su-57 fighter, the Su-75 Checkmate light fighter and the Hunter heavy attack drone.
